View Full Version : The Never Ending Debates

I was looking throught the posts and archives recently and not too much to my surprise I have found redundant debates over several topics. I was thinking that these same debates have been around for years and was wondering which ones will be around in another ten years.
Which debates do you forsee to be the never ending ones?
I'll start with
LUND VS CRESTLINER

Go fishing!
hehe... (BTW Fisherman, this post wasn't meant as a troll, just a fun thing to think about :) .)
I see the
"Glass v. Aluminum" as always being around as well.
Or one that isn't as "blood-boiling", but has been around WC since the very first days, when there were only about 5 posts a day, is how to keep people away from your "fish markers".

One that I think will not be around for too much longer is 4-stroke vs. 2-stroke. 20 years ago there was no debate and in 20 years there'll be no debate.

How about FISHING THE BIG EYES ON ERIE (should we)
" " ARE THERE ANY FISH IN ERIE
" " WHAT MOTOR IS BEST
" " " OIL IS BEST
" " " ROD HOLDERS ARE BEST
" " NETTERS ARE DESTROYING THE LAKE
" " CHARTER CAPTS. KEEPING LIMITS
" " LOWER LIMITS ON EVERYTHING
" " CLOSING SEASONS ON ERIE
ANYTHING TO DO WITH ANYONE GETTING NICE FISH THAT OTHERS DON'T
and on and on and on ......
SORRY YOU ASK Have a nice day !! :)
Considering the length of time that 4 strokes have been available...you might be looking at more than 20 years. They aren't as easy a sale as some think. Some like tracker Grizzly are derated when you put a four stroke on due to the weight.
Anything having to do with sonars.
Which rod is better....loomis or st. croix
which reel....daiwa or okuma
which aluminum welded or riveted
which snow white or yellow - ooops that'll be enough of that.
Let's go FISHING~

What came first the chicken or the egg ?
The chicken and the egg were laying in bed. The egg, looking frustrated, looked at the chicken who was relaxing, smoking a cigarette and said " I guess that answers that question."
How about: Fishing the way it use to be VS new technology, tournaments, pro fishermen, etc.

The only reason the 4 stroke exist is because of the EPA sticking there nose in it. A 2 stroke is clean and faster when set up properly. Faster out of the hole too. Don't weigh nearly as much.

Well, Yamaha will have replaced the T8 by then but I somehow can't see the threads about it ending. There always seems to be at least one and in some cases, more than one discussion about the T8 going at any time.
So, maybe in 10-20 years the question will be "Will my old T8 work on Dodge's new hovercraft?"

That may be why it started, but people don't need the EPA to tell them that a 4-stroke is more efficient, all they have to do is compare fuel usage. Nobody is buying the 4-strokes for the speed, they're buying them mostly because they are quiet and smoother running and because of fuel savings.

The greatest debate ever...
Ginger or Mary Anne?
NateW
04-11-2002, 10:23 AM
That's no debate!
Ginger: Shallow, all looks no brains, show a little flash and she's all yours, very high maintenance.
Mary Ann: Small town girl has heard it all from the local boys, finese required, not easily duped by trnkettes.
You guessed it, Ginger is for the bass boys and Mary Ann is a walleye Gal!
