Hi I was wondering about Lure Leader for a planer board, and if anybody has used one. Do they work like they say or just another gimick to make a sale. any info would be great thanks.

I got 2 last year, for trolling on lake michigan. I didn't not have much luck with them. I tried to use it as a planer, but
the mounting spot is too low to the water and it gets pulled back. I then tried it as a diver and found it hard to adjust
the angle at which it goes out to the side. Plus you have to have a second rod to retrieve the planer. Also the release
that comes with it, is a line eater, you have to spin it so much that you get a bunch of kinks in your line.
But if you want to try them let me know I will sell them real cheap.eal cheap.

What are they and is there a website we can go to so we can see what you're talking about?

Thanks for the website. Kind of an interesting idea. Looks like a cross between a Slider Diver and a Planer board. Appears to do both options but sounds like neither one perfectly. Can you possibly change the line releases to stop the line abuse? Then you could use it as a diver at least.

I did change the release, but then as a inline diver, it puts way too much stress on the line. The only other way to use it as a diver would be to run 2 lines, one to the diver and then the main line to the lure; and then to reset the diver you would have the fight it back it. So with that I find it just easier to use a dipsy diver and the yellow boards.

Okay. Thought the release change might make it worth something. I agree though to on the Dipsey and board set-up; at least you're not guessing were your lures are running in the water column based on a speed dependant swing and pull to the outside.
