Has anyone tried the Bass Pro Shops Signature Series HM-85 rods. Was wondering how you feel their 6 ft. WX60MLJS jigging stick and their 7 ft. WX70MSH jigging\rigging rod compare to comparable Loomis or St. Croix rods. The $99 price tag makes them look good but am I better in the long run with a Loomis or St. Croix? Thanks.

I have been using these rods for three years and have been very happy with them. I currently own five HM 85 from BPS. The walleye angler series had a 5 ft. 9 inch rod offered last year and I have two of them I use for vertical jigging. The other HM85 rods I have are the Pro- qualifier series that were reintroduced to the BPS line again this year. They are very sensitive rods and have proven to be very durable. I think you will be happy with them. I would recommend purchasing the weight balance system that screws into the butt of the rod. At first I thought this was kind of stupid but after vertical jigging with it I won't own a rod without some kind of counter balance.
