Fox River Spring Walleye Tournament

The annual Fox River Spring Walleye Classic will be held Saturday, May 11 in Green Bay. Tournament waters run from the Depere Dam out to a line drawn from Longtail Point to Point Sable. The entry fee is $100 with an additional $10 for big walleye and $10 for the St. Judes Children's Hospital. Entries can be found at Bob's Bait and Tackle or by calling (920) 336-7287. No entries will be accepted after 6:00 PM on May 3 so get your entries in now.

How many teams are entered so far?

We currently have approximately 20 teams entered. We should have between 40 and 60 teams when all is said and done. Last years event was a huge success and I believe we will have more boats because of this. It's a fun event that will be run well and many fish will be caught. Last year approximately 27 pounds (5 fish) won the tournament. We currently have six local corporate sponsors who have donated funds for the St. Judes Children's Hospital. The local country station, Y100, will be covering the weigh-in live and will also be giving away a smaller fishing boat on the day of the tournament.

You know we will be fishing. Nobody else wants to run it and you know how much Karl and I like to fish. We will be the last ones out and one of the first ones in. Last year we paid the top 5 and we took sixth. I'm thinking this year we pay out the top six.
