I know, I know. This topic has no doubt been :smash: to death. :sorry: I checked out the archives and am a little confused. I always thought that the consensus opinion here on WC was that Goodyear Marathon Radials were the way to go but there seems to be some problems with them too! So I ask you "What tire brand would you recomend?" Thanks for any input, much appreciated.

Yes, this has been discussed with many opinions. Personally, I am going with Maxxis this spring. For most people it seems they go with what they have had good luck with.

Maxxis 8008 ST

The Goodyears were a good tire untill they started makeing them in China. If you can find a US made tire I would go with them.

Just a note, Belle Tire in Kalamazoo Michigan ordered two Goodyear Marathon tires for me last September. Made in USA stamped right on the tire. Took them 6 weeks or so to get them though. I'd guess any Belle tire could help out.

Tirerack.com has country of origin info on their tires. The Goodyear Marathon 215-75R14 comes in 3 versions with minor differences in physical specs:
- One made in US or Canada
- One made in US or New Zealand
- One made in China

Maybe it helps to say what you'll accept and what you won't. My Marathons were made in New Zealand and have been problem-free.

I bought tires for my SUV through TireRack and was pleased with my purchase, both with price and time of delivery!
