I have an 18 foot Lund Explorer, 115 yamaha on it. My current coverage is for...Boat and engine actual cash value and 1000 deductible.
300,000 craft and eqpmnt liability
5000 craft and eqpmnt medcl expense
4000 personal effects (on an endorsement extra)
automatic per item/aggregate eqpmnt coverage 1000/3000
addl per item/aggregate boating eqpmnt cov. 1000/1000
total per item/aggregate boating eqpmnt cov. 2000/4000
$256.00 per year premium.
Ilive in Indiana and pull the boat to MN 2 times a year. use it in IN rest of time. I keep it at my house in fishing season, at a friends barn in winter.

I would reccomend going with an Agreed value policy instead of actual cash value. With Agreed value you will recieve the insured amount on the declaration page in the event of a total loss.. With actual cash value you will recieve what your insurance company thinks your boat is worth. I have been able to help a lot of the members here better understand marine insurance.
