Any of you folks have experience with the led livewell lights like cabelas offers? Any likes or dislikes? Been thinking about getting three of them, but i dont want to punch holes in my livewells for a big disappointment. Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

They were already in my 04' Kenner, never ever a problem! Worked very well, never burnt one out, did a great job of lighting up the livewell/baitwell!

First thing I would ask myself is if I would use them enough to warrent cutting the holes in the livewells. For me I would have to say no. But at the same time my Lund came with them.

The led lights will work fine.
I would just caution you that if you do add the lights that you put them on a circuit so that it is obvious to you that the livewell lights are on.

i.e. since the lights are going to be behind a closed door, you don't want to leave them on, when you have left the boat.

If you do, the batteries will eventually die.

If you have a master circuit, that you turn off when you leave the boat - great. Otherwise, it probly makes sense to wire the led lights along with another light in the console area to remind you that the livewell lights are still on. An easy thing to do is to use an illuminated switch that lights up when that switch is active.

Remember, light stressess the fish, so it is better for the fish if the livewell is dark when it is not needed to light up the well.

Another option that you might consider is to put the livewell lights in the lid or the underside of the top of the livewell deck. That way, you don't have to drill any holes in the livewell itself.

Another thing that you can do is to simply pick up one of the small stick on magnetic led lights that are used for varous purposes such as shop lights, etc. Then, when light is needed, simply grab the light, flip it on, stick it to the lid of the livewell and clean out the well.

I do agree that having the built in lights would be nice when cleaning out the well in the dark, as is frequently the case.

Then, when

Go here!! www. BLUEWATERLED. com They have the best lights for the best price. I have them in my live wells and all my compartments in my Triton and they are great. I have them on mercury switches when i open the lid they go on and close the lid they go out. I just got two 60 led strips from them today to light up the inside of my topper. If you are a member of Bass Boat Central they give you a deal!! Wiredog

I installed these in each compartment on the lid and they run all year on one set of batteries. No wires or holes to drill. They swivel and turn 360 degrees so you can direct the light but on bigger compartments i installed two lights. The price is right at $8 for a 3 pack. http://www.amazon.com/Rite-Lite-LPL623W-Puck-Light/dp/B000ETQLY6/ref=pd_sbs_k_2
