When you purchased your X-15 with GPS did it come with a Pole Mount Adapter for the GPS Puck Receiver? If not how would I get my hands on one?

Why do you need the Pole Mount Adapter? I know people who install their puck in a storage compartment and they report no problems. I'm confused! Would the extra 6" really make a difference?

I Just want to get it out of the way. Where I have the space to mount it I know I will be stepping on it. I would rather get a bump in the leg than a bill in the mail form Lowrance.... Just for further intrest.... When your friends put them in the Storage are did they have any problems recieving signals?

Can I take a raincheck? First thanks for the offer it is very nice of you to help out a fellow WC user. I have come to see that this is how everone on this board interacts. I am Buying a new X-15 w/WAAS in about a week or two and want to have all of my "ducks in a row" so I can get things ready for Opener. I will let you know if I need it, thanks a bunch.

Sounder,
I would prefer that others who have mounted their receivers out of sight reply to your thread. I have never gotten into the "I have a buddy who says" routine and prefer not to start now. I was basically asking a question about why you really need a pole mount. You answered my question, thanks!
My guess, (there's a qualifier for ya') is that 99% of the time this setup will work. My friends have no complaints. My unit works in my garage, why not??????
I also recall a thread where someone was using a garmin with a built-in receiver in their enclosed cabin. Wouldn't this be the same thing?
Looking forward to hearing from those with first hand knowledge.

You can mount it in a storage compartment or under your console as long as there is not aluminum or metal on top of it.
I mounted mine next to my console on the gunnel. I don't step there.
