Do any of you put anything on your rail under the RAM railmount to prevent it from slipping downwards, if so what?
I'm going to be using the Berts system for the most part however there's a few locations I would like to add these as additional rod holders for different fishing species/techniques.
Thanks.

I bought a cheap bicycle innertube and cut pieces to wrap around the rail before installing the rail mount. They haven't budged after one season.

I did this exact same technique and it works great and keeps the rails from getting scratched.

Non-skid tape works great

grip tape from local hardware store, solid as a rock

I tried the innertube thing and it didn't work for me. I used the non-skid tape from the hardware store and they are solid. All 10 of em.
I use clear flexible tubing from the hardware store. Slit it lengthwise and snap it over the rail. I think I use 1" inside diameter but it doesn't quite reach all the way around a 1" rail.
It's thicker than innertube, but grabs the rail better. I've used grip tape, but the tubing is faster, far easier to remove, and reusable.
I mounted them right to the rails on my Ranger Reata without any problems.

Same here... I find them to grip just fine. The proper screw driver that fits the head and you can snug them down tight. I always wondered why guys were using inner tubes/grip tape, etc. I "get it"...but how much tighter do they really need to be?? Mine have never slipped unless I force them....and it takes a sharp push/yank to move them. Never have they budged due to a fish.
I move mine many times a year for different presentations...I'd have to wrap the entire rail and don't feel it's needed.

When I encountered the most problems was when my line would snag. It would twist the holder down and get looser the more it happened.

Great, thanks for the tips guys! I figured most of you were using something.
