LoL i tried posting in Boats and Motors but i got very little responses. So i figured i might as well try here...anyways here is what i am looking for.

Lookin around for a new erie boat. Really at the moment price of a rig really isnt limited so if some1 could give me some input on a good boat id be much thankful. Ok here is wat i am looking for.
-23-27' boat inboard or I/O (V8 Motor)
-trailerable (i would like to have a slip one day, but not at this time so like 8-9' wide)
-Enclosed Hardtop with open back (like a Sport-Craft so i guess its a 3/4 hardtop with sliding windows on the sides)
-Decent size cockpit for trollin for the walleyes
-and an all around good rough water boat (aka can take 3-5's no problem)

Ive seen the Sport-Crafts...they are everywhere i look up on erie. I guess this could say something for them...Ive also seen Baha Cruisers, Penn Yan, Bayliners, Sea Ray, Thompson, and a bunch of other hardtops... Any1 know which one is best for the lake...or is there a better boat out there?

You will get a lot of opinions, mostly slanted toward what ever a person has. In my case I own a 27 foot sportcraft, hard top with an inboard 350 engine. I bought it new in 1996 and it has not missed a beat since. I troll lake erie, 3 to 5 days per week so it get a lot of use. If you want a trailer boat, you will want to stay in the 8 foot wide range. I almost bought a 25 foot inboard sportcraft but trailer was not something I wanted so I went with the 27. The 25 sport has all you could want at a reasonable price. I am sure you can spend more money on what some would consider a "better boat" but the Sportcraft fits my needs and pocket book.
Feel free to e-mail me direct if you have other questions.

I have had 2 23' Pro-Lines 1988 IO and an 1996 outboard. Loved them both. I am now in a 23 Ranger center console so that I can fish the RCL tournaments.
They are top quality and trailerable. A boat is a huge decision so take your time and look a lot before you choose.
Good luck.

Again Fisher like i told you a new trophy isnt exactly top knotch, but mine is definatly a sweet rider in rough water. I am Very happy with my boat and i feel just as comfortable in it as i would any other 22-27' boat. Maybe one day ill be able to get a nice rig (Osprey!!), but im living with what i got for now...

Check out Trophys they have been improved since the Bashed ones from the early-mid 80's...
