I have the service on my RayMarine. If you spend enough days on the water to make the monthly charge acceptable, it is a great option. I fish the Great Lakes almost exclusively, L. Mi. and Superior, and it is really nice to see what is coming, where it is going, and how fast. Tons of info, actual wind speeds and direction, storms, lightning, isobars, wave heights, water temps, just about anything you can think of. Once you sign up for the weather service, the rest of Sirius radio is pretty cheap, about $6/month I think. I can check the weather before I leave the driveway, and actual weather, not the "predictions" on the regular weather channels on VHF. I like it, wish it was a little cheaper (about $29/month), but it is a great safety tool for me.

I have a short story on how I used Sirius Weather in South Dakota to avoid 2 severe storms last year with photos. It is a good tool for me as I don't like to quit fishing. http://www.hightechfishing.com/sirius.html

Wow, that is extremely impressive. I had no idea that it was so detailed!

For a charter boat or guide, I could see this as being an invaluable tool. Z

Sean for the radio part of sirius you have to get a cord to connect it to your radio just like you would connect an ipod to radio

Thank you Brian!

I take it I need to purchase the additional LWX-1 SIRIUSŪ Satellite. Does this cord run from the LWX-1 to the Aux jack in the stereo?

It comes with the antenna that has a cord that plug in to a small box where the ethernet cable goes to HDS head, power cables going into box and there is a jack on side of box same as one that would go to stereo. The sirius stations are controled on the hds head unit.
