Without any personal speculation as to there origins, no matter what, this is one sad sight to see on the ice.

I've seen this on Lake Erie before also. Hopefully they will end up the same way the ones I saw and thats Eagle & Coyote food. I saw both dining on them....Still not good to see....

Those fish were caught by commercial fishermen on Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba Canada. While you might disagree with the practice it is legal and customary on the lake. The guy shipped them as "headless dressed"
When you see walleye in a store it probaly came from Lake Winnipeg. They catch 5 million pounds of walleye a year there and have done so for over 100 years.

the sad part is this will be mille lacs soon, and red lake, again.

I've seen some fishing spots littered with trash, small sunfish, small perch, or small bullheads. Why do people do this on a lake where no fish should be wasted. On a different lake, that's a different set of rules.
