My fishing partner is thinking of upgrading his electric trolling motor. It is a size that would work well on my boat but I am not sure what to offer him and he isn't sure what it is worth. It is a Minnkota Autopilot, integrated transducer, 74# thrust and 60 inch shaft, 24v. He bought it new in 2003. I looked in this Swap Board and on eBay but there isn't anything close other than new ones. Anyone have an idea of its value?

Honestly I would offer him half the price of a new one. It has six seasons on it. It may last quite a while or it may go puff. The good thing is you can still get minnkotas repaired.

I do not know what the value should be but I do know that the older Auto Pilots were very slow in changing direction. The head turning speed was not very good. Matter a fact I would not buy another until the Terrova came out and I had a chance to try the head turning speed before I purchased it. The Terrova is great. Not sure if the 2003 models were as slow as the one I had in the late 90's but if so.... I would not offer even 1/2 maybe 1/3 of what the new ones cost if you are satisfied with the performance. .02
