Is there any good books or web sites about making spinner rigs? What blade, beads etc. to use and why. Curious because my bait shop got in a box of very large colorado blades about the size of a silver dollar, does anyone use these?

Hi
The Lindy website has a wealth of info on fishing tips, some of which include info on spinners as you mentioned. Try one of the following:
1. #####://www.lindylittlejoe.com
Then go to "interactions" on the right side of the mainpage, and beneath that heading click on "fishing tips". If you search through it you'll find some info on spinners.
2. The page within their site that had more info I found was: #####://www.lindylittlejoe.com/products/lindy/spinners.htm But, I'm not sure if you'll direct link to that one....that one had about a dozen articles on different spinner rigs or using spinners.
Have fun learning and experimenting. Good luck,

The bigger the blade, the larger diameter line you should use so everything balances out. You dont use 6# test line with size 5 or 6 Colorado Blades. Too whimpy. If I was going to use large blades, I would start with 12# test line(mono)and 30# test FireLine. Also, use larger beads with this set-up. Not the smaller size you usually use with 6# test in order to match up all components of the rig. 3 & 4 size blades work best with 8# or 10# line(mono).
