1) Why can Mn.DNR do such a good job with smallmouth and muskies on Mille Lacs and make such a mess of the walleye situation?

2)Elected by the people for the people unless they have to take a stand. Is that how we were taught?

3)Why are there ten millon dollars worth of trucks and boats at the casino when it rains and everyone still complains about the slot limits?

4)What made me think an ex-wrestler and ex-cop could oversee Minnesota's most valuable resouce?

Sorry, i'm new here. If these have been touched on before just humor me!!

Hi dutchboy,

I should stay away from any MilleLacs stuff because the whole
situation is just very flammable.

but to respond to number 1.

The DNR has had this all laid out for them (harvest quotas and the
like) they are responding to what the courts are telling them.

I dont understand what you are saying in number 2

number 3...people really like to fish MilleLacs, people like to
fret about MilleLacs, people like to blame the DNR for everything
that happens on MilleLacs. I hear the lake is full to the brim
with big fish and it may be causing some new problems.

number 4...Every elected official is an ordinary guy. Heck, who
thought an ex wrestler would be governor. I would think a cop would
be a good choice to someone to enforce our game laws. The legislature
looks out for our resources, the DNR works for them and serves at
their liesure. The DNR employs biologists and scientists the head
guy doesnt need to wear a lab coat or hip boots. His is a desk job.

To wrap this up...If I fished MilleLacs and didnt like the way things
were going there or the rules that were comming down. I would fish
another lake. Fishing time for me to way to valuable to spend somewhere that was confounding me.

There it is.
Good luck on Millelacs, really
