how hard or whats involed in changing my ranger 620[2004]from 24volt trolling motor to 36volt do I have to run new wires to front or just change plug and add battery any help would be great

You'll need:

- add the battery (prefer same size/type as the first 2)
- add the jumper wire to the new battery
- add the new 36V trolling motor
- make sure that your plug for the motor is wired correctly for 36V on both sides (plug side and receptacle side). It's as easy as making sure that the wores are connected to the right screws, but it's very important.

You have 6ga wire in the boat - you're good-to-go for 36V. Nice that Ranger puts in quality wire, eh? :)

Just an FYI, but according to Minn Kota's published amp-draw chart, a 36V 101# TM actually draws LESS amps (46) than their 24V 80# (56) version. Still, good to have the #6 wire, but the increased voltage actually reduces the current usage.

I'm in the process of doing this right now on my 619. As described above, it's really easy. My boat had 24 volts already wired in series, so all i have to do is add a third battery with a jumper for 36 volts in series.
