Ok all you electronics wizards maybe someone can help me out. I decided to extend the length of the mic cord for easier access. I made the 2 cuts to splice in the new longer cord and now the mic won't work. Checked and re checked all the connections and still nothing. The radio is still receiveing fine, glad for any addvice thanks.

Did you get good bright copper and solder your splices? Good quality mike cords are often made of berrylium (spelling) copper which can be a bear to splice as it doesn't easily accept solder.
SET the hook!!!

Blacksilver, I didn't do use any solder just twisted the cut ends together and taped. Maybe solder is the answer. Theres 3 small wires in the mic cordand maybe just twisting won't make a good enough connection. Thanks for the come back.
