Went perch fishing off of Navy Pier Monday morning, never caught so many fish in my life! Every drop caught at least 1 perch, sometimes two! Had to weed through a lot of dinks to get a limit of keepers, but it was well worth it. What a blast! Spring has sprung!

Have heard that the Navy pier area can be excellent for the perch but never have ventured over. What kind of size are the keepers over there???

Well, you have to weed through a LOT (100 in 4 hours) of small perch, but a limit of 15 fish 8"-13" isn't a problem. Great fun!

Hi Mike!!! How was your winter? If your ready to get your boat out, you can get the perch in the Cal Sag as well. Same situation lots of fish and planty of sorting. But they were delicious after going through the scaler, my filet knife, and the frypan.

There gettin em off the bridges from shore as well. 95th and 100th.

Hey all, hope the winter was kind to all of you. Sorry to hear about the arthritis in the hands, Al, hope it gets a little better as the weather warms up. It was good to see you the other day, James. Hope the new reel works out well.

I'm still not working full time since last April, the printing industry is pretty brutal right now. Don't know how much I'll be able to afford to get the boat out this year, just working on being able to keep it right now. Hopefully I'll get out to Gary Light for some real jumbos once the ice is out.

Wish I could get to Erie this spring........
