I had some rods and reels get stolen and it been a while since I shopped for a bottom bouncing reel. I had Pinnacle Matrix's before and loved the flipping switch option on them. looking for reccomendations of a qood quality reel that will hold up to snaggy bottom bouncing. What are you guys using in 2010?

I don't spent a whole lot on my bottom bouncer reels ($40-$70). Since I have a tiller I get left handed retrieve reels for me. The right handed models go to rider who need to borrow one.

The flipping switch is a must. However, if you find a good deal on a reel and it doesn't have a flippin' switch, I have found models where I can pop the free spool button back up with my thumb and the spool locks up again. I've had to do that with left handed models since the selection is quite limited.

I live without the convenience of a flippin switch. I just use my casting rods and reels.

Daiwa Megaforce reels work well for this application. You can let out line and even take in line with one finger. The drag doesn't seem very smooth, but I haven't lost a fish yet.

Try the Quantum Accurist reels with the flippin switch. I too use left hand models for baitcast reels.

The new Abu Garcia Blackmax has the flippin' switch. Don't quote me, but I think they are around $60.00

I use a Quantum Code and a Quantum "Kevin Van Dam" Sig Series. The KVD is the same reel as my code. I just got the KVD from basspro on sale. Both have flipping switches and my code has gotten a lot of use with no problems.

ABU Black Max and Silver Max have flippin switches now. Black max is $50 and the Silver is $70.

Two really good not so expensive reels for bouncing.

If you run two poles I second the Diawa Megaforce. You can let out line and take line up with one hand. We bounce in Mesquite brush and rocks and my reels get a work out. Have run them two years now and no problem. I use a left and a right hand and love them. In fact, bought two spares just in case...
