I was wondering if any of you have ever seen or participated in a boat show. I don't mean the kind that we all went to this spring and looked over the newest and lastest boats on the market. I'm talking about a show where people bring their rigs to display and look over what others have done to their boats.

I used to live in Northville, MI and there was a restaurant called Wooly Bully's. Each Wednesday and Friday night, car enthusiasts would bring their rides to the restaurant and show them off. I'm not talking about a weekly gathering, but an occasional get together.

So, have any of you heard of anything like this before. Being a boat nut, especialy fishing boats, I think it would be neat to gather and be able to look over other's setups and maybe get some ideas that I haven't thought of before.

Just a thought as I sit here waiting to get out and fish.

Hi...
We do that in our Walleyes Unlimited Club in SE WI /NE IL... If I recall correctly, it's an annual event. I agree with you regarding the fact that it is a super way of learning little things from others. Sometimes someone does something just a little bit different; but that can make things more effective or efficient.

Personally, I like the idea. I would try to attend because I'm always thinking of ways to try to make my fishing boat more fishable, and I guess if I had it set up as perfect as I could, I would bring it to show it off. I can relate to the car shows--I have a 69 Camaro SS, and I go to the restaurant gatherings in my area once in a while, because it gives me an excuse to get it out. Fishermen and fisherwomen would probably want to get their boats out on the water every chance they got, so I doubt a show could happen very often. But once or twice a year would be a good start. How do we start?

A Southeast Michigan Walleye Central get together, and bring the boats?
