I am looking at a little bit older Crestliner boat with 2 1993 Yamaha motors, one is 130 HP V-4 and the other is a 9.9 4 stroke. Has anybody had experience with older Yamahas and if you have, can you let me know what you think of them? Thanks in advance for any input, it is appreciated.

I've had both a 1995 Yamaha 250HP two stroke, and a 1989 Yamaha 9.9 four stroke. Both were problem free. The 250 was a V6, and I think it might have shared some components with the V4 blocks. I will say the 250 was exceptionally thirsty though. I don't think there is anything specific to either motor that would cause you to concerned about buying the rig. Obviously you should have them both checked out by a professional if you don't feel qualified to do it yourself.
