I just rigged an 858 on the bow of my boat, and I'm already giddy with the performance differences relative to the 788.

I tinkered with an 898 a couple weeks ago, when I gave a Side Imaging seminar at a local Cabelas. There is TON of technology packed into that unit, at a price that will allow many more users to get into an all-inclusive, large screen Humminbird Side Imaging unit. Keep in mind that the 898 not only has a larger screen than the 798, but it also has the most recent hardware (including ethernet port and video out port) and the HD-SI transducer (which gives you access to the 800 kHz SI frequency). Nothing needs to be added to that unit to turn it into a powerful fish- and structure-locating machine!

Yep I got mine yesterday, haven't decided yet if I'm going to install it or take it in to have it done but I can't wait to play with it, I spent some time using the different units at Cabelas and for the money the 898 was just too good to pass up.
