I just compared the payouts of the RCL and the PWT. There is no comparrision. Why would a guy fish the PWT?
I have no ties either way. Just got caught up in the debate I guess. Just seems like one entity is serving the angler and one is taking advantage of the angler.

Howdy,
In my opinion, there are differences to both circuits when compared side by side, but really no down sides, except you are correct with the possibility of one less day as an am in the PWT.
However, and more to my point, the two circuits cannot really be compared for the reasons of which one is better than the other. They are both similar formats, but that is where the similarity ends.
For my money, both these circuits have a nice that they fill, as does the MWC. There are many fine tournament organizations around now, and tournament anglers have so many choices.
I feel in the long run all these major circuits are going to do well in promoting and advancing walleye fishng in general. And, I am talking about benefits to the normal angler, not the tournament type.
In my mind, there would not be as much advancement in equipment and gadgets that we all can use. Fact is the average walleye boat now is somewhere in the 16 foot range with a 25-50 hp motor. A dozen years ago those were top of the line rigs, and they were not as nicely appointed or with as many options.
Would walleye boats, as an example, have come to this level without tournaments? Maybe. But definately not as fast.
Long way to get to this basic point, I feel the RCL and the PWT and the MWC all have a place, and they are all different. Thus giving a great many choices to those who would fish them. Just like in purchasing a boat, weigh out all the specifics and choose what's best for you. It is a big world and there is still room for everybody.
Have fun...........R

IMHO, everyone who likes fishing walleye tournaments should fish BOTH circuits (PWT & RCL) at some time or other. Both are excellent.
If you think one or the other is better - great. Just don't knock a circuit you HAVEN'T FISHed it. OK?

A guy would want to fish the PWT if he owned a Alumacraft, Starcraft, Tracker, Yar Craft, Tuffy . . . . .
