Do any of you WFC members own a Tuffy X-190?

I am trying to find out the pro's and con's of this boat.

Thank you.

What kind of fishing do you do? Where do you plan on going? Anyway it is great boat been in a couple, test drove one, couple guys I know have them and love em. Smooth, dry and fast 64mph with a 200 Opti and a decent load. It is not as deep as a Deep V, but deeper than a bass boat. The guys that have are not afraid of big water, you need to use common sense on any water. Yo can hang a kicker on one. Built well, nice and solid feel to it.

Kirt,

I primarily fish Winne and Mille Lac for walleye, smallmouth and notherns. I backtroll a lot for walleyes and cast for smallmouth and notherns.

Which Tuffy do you feel would suit me the best, the X-190 or the 1890?

Is there anything your friends don't like about the the X-190?

Thanks

I think the X-190 would be a better musky boat. If you are going to fish eyes most of the time, I think a 1890 would be the best fit. I'm not saying the X-190 won't work, but It is designed more for casting than trolling.

They both have 25" transomes, so with a set of splash gaurds it would back troll fine, the 1890 would handle really rough water a bit better do to its extra depth, but if you want to do a allot casting from the bow the 190 do to its lower profile would be better. They both are layed very similar on the inside. The 190 was designed with the big water musky guy in mind, so with common sense the 190 could handle mist everything would throw at it. There will be one at the Musky Expo in St Paul in 2 weeks. Stop in and kick the tires.
