Wire Bending

Hi Guys

I need some help - I am trying to make some musky in line spinners - but I was wondering if you know of a better way to bend the wire to form a closed loop?

I have a 8" closed loop wire shaft - the wire diameter is 0.051" - I have been bending them with needle nose pliars - but is there a better way to bend it - please let me know.

You can spend as little as a couple of dollars for a simple wire bender up to hundreds of dollars for a fully automated wire bender.

Hagen's Professional Wire Former allows you to produce dozens of wire designs to make all types of spinners, wire leaders, wire snells, spinnerbaits and just about any type of terminal tackle. Designed and constructed for commercial use on wire diameters ranging from .018 to .041 inches, it lets you truly customize your lures to your own exacting standards or build your own creations from scratch. Built of solid anodized machined aluminum, this easy-to-use tool is designed to never fail. For added strength and durability, all points subjected to heavy wear are constructed of heat-treated tool steel. Components for both 1/8" and 3/16" diameter loop options are included. Can be mounted on a bench. Easy to operate right- or left-handed. A great money-saver, it allows you to produce lures at a fraction of the cost of factory-made lures. Plus, you can design them to work best in the conditions you fish. Also available is an extra head for wires with diameter constructed from .041 to .051 inches.

Check at a craft/hobby store. They have alot of tools used to bend wire for jewelry chain links in necklaces and bracelets.

If you are making a limited number of spinners for yourself try the wire bender that looks like a c-clamp. I've used one for years and have had very good results at a low price.
