I want to thank the guys who answered my last post about my Faststrike 150 cutting out. REW if I had some extra money and did know a "good mechanic" around here, that would be the answer. I did re-clamp my primer bulb after finding they were loose and leaked some gas when I pumped it up. I was just wondering if someone knows what the "perfect prop for this rig would be. It's a '95 Pro V 1890 with a 150 Faststrike. When I bought it, it had a 14.4 X 19 aluminum prop which ran 45 mph at 5800-6000 rpm. I replaced it with a Raker 14.4 X 20p and now it runs 48 mph at 5400-5500 rpm. It normally doesn't give me enough bow lift, but when it does hook up, my 5-6 ft. rooster tail goes away, the rpms drop 100-200 and it runs 49.9 mph on the gps. It's mounted in the 3rd hole. The 4th hole does nothing but throw a taller roost and the 2nd hole drops my rpms to 5200-5300 at 46 mph. I think I'd like to be back up near 6000 rpm without giving up any speed.

You could have your current prop pitch to a 19 and add some cupping on the tips. Going to a 19 will give you 200 rpms and the tip cupping will add bow lift. Another prop that will run good and that setup is a Tempest in a 19 pitch it will hook up very well and give excellent bowlift.

Ok I was thinking I would need a 19p but didn't want to go down to a 18p Raker. What would it cost to get my prop re-worked?

On average your looking at $120 to 150 to change pitch and cup. If you need welding of kind on the prop you going to probaly spend another $50.
