I am considering 2 ugly stick 8'3" downrigger rods with 2 Daiwa SG27lc reels for planer board and downrigger fishing. They will be primarily used for walleye on inland lakes. Was thinking of going with 10 lb test mono. Which brand of mono should I use? Also, will this setup work well for what I am using it for? Thanks

if i were you i´d go for power-pro line instead of mono
I´ve been using mono for long time but switched last year &
caught lot more fish since the switch ...

I use that exact set-up and you can use any type of line that suits you. The rods are very forgiving and yet have plenty of backbone for when you want it. The reels are the best option available. Line is a personal preference. Any 10 lb. test mono line will work for you. If you switch your idea away from mono, I would suggest for you to get a 10 lb. EQUIVALENT size diameter for your Superline. That again would be a personal choice, they are all good lines.
