wallyes and the oil spill on the detroit river

We are planning on going to Detroit the weekend of May 19th.and are curious as to how the walleye are biting.

Will be fishing around the Elizabeth Park area, also I was wondering if the oil spill has affected the fishing any.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We were out today.
The fish dont seem to be effected much as I can tell. Upriver, there are still globs of oil around. WHo knows what the long term effect will be on the hatch, though. By the time you come down, the spawn will probably be pretty much over, depending on the temps. You may want to head for the lake by then. Still a ways off, its hard to say at this point.
