What are the pros & cons of each. I currently have a Pinpoint 3700-60 trollling motor with a 7500 bowmount graph & a 7520 console graph. Looking to add GPS this year but I am unsure of which system. Should I add a Pinpoint GPS or go to a dedicated GPS such as a Lowrance Global Map 2400. Your thoughts greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bruce

Bruce, My opinion is the 2400, the Pinpoint gps is great for the bow, but the 2400 would be a much better option at the console, two reasons, 1- mapping detail (hotmaps, or map create systems), 2- I'm not a big fan of combo units, if one goes down you have lost them both, full screen sonar, full screen gps, and even with limited space Ram mounts can acomadate that package. Good luck. Matt

I am also looking at a GPS purchase shortly.
Better yet have GPS and sonar on both units and if one goes down you still have enough to get by.
If you get the 2400 let us know how ya like it I will do the same if it is time sooner than later for me.
Thanks

Bruce,
I have to agree with Matt, I do not like to run a combo unit either. My 350 with GPS went out last weekend and I was lucky I had another 350 on the bow w/o GPS though. I just purchased the 2400 and will post my opionion when I get a chance to use it, I just hope they worked all the bugs out before they put this one on the market, which I am confident they did.
Good luck with whatever unit you buy.
Take care,

Hey Bruce. I was thinking of getting a Global Map 2400 but they were not shipping them to dealers in Canada yet, so I settled on a X-15 with a gps module. I am going to be using my Pinpoint graph at the console and then use the X-15 as my GPS, and I will have a backup graph if necessary. I was looking at the 2400, and the Globalmap 3000 but I settled on the X-15 because I got a good deal on a demo unit. Chris K
