What Rigging would you recommend for In-Line Boards. I will be trolling large Lakes in NE.PA and NY. Not targeting any specific
species. Most Lakes and Resevoir's I fish have good populations of Lake Trout, Browns, Pike, Walleye, and Hybrid Stripers. Would the
Slide Rigging be easier then the fixed. I never used boards before.
Thanks

Myself being that the probability of catching more aggressive fish such as the Striper,Pike & Trout are present,I would go with the slide rigging technic. Just be sure to install some sort of stop about 5' from the bait so as the board does not make contact with the bait. (It will cuz the fish to come loose)I like to use an item called a SpeedoBead for the stopper. If you have a fixed system the more aggresive fish will make your board dive and it will act like a diver for you. I've had this happen on large Steelhead before. Good Luck -

I guess my choice, using OFF-Shore in-line boards, is to keep the boarded "fixed" and be able to eliminate it as soon as possible. By having it slide down within a few feet of the fish, the fish will have more tendency to pull the board under the water, or at least be fighting the board more directly, therefore, maybe, straining the whole hook/line part of things needlessly. By keeping your rod high and winding steadily, you can keep the board above water and unhook it, then make the final fight to and into the boat.
