I recently watched an episode of In-Fisherman Television and they were advertising a new fishing line; Vanish. This looks very good, especially for clearer water, so i went out and bought a spool (8 LB) , i havent fished with it yet but i was cuious what other figherman have thought or heard about it. Id really Appreciate some feedback on this or other fishing lines for walleye you might recomend. thanx

You should be able to find a few threads about Vanish in previous posts. A few highlights from old messages: be very careful with knots (wet them or even use mineral oil to lubricate). Many folks recommend using it only for leaders. But it definitely can improve your catch rate, especially in clear water. Remember also that the line sinks, so be sure to use floats when using it to tie spinners.

My own experience has mostly been with XPS fluorocarbon in heavier weights (12 and 20) for salmon and steelhead. It catches a lot of fish but I definitely don't trust it like I do some other lines (I've had a few breakoffs but it's been worth it). I've had great luck with spinners tied on the 12 lb. for walleyes.

YOU CAN SEARCH FOR THREADS, ON THIS POST, THAT WILL GIVE YOU A LOT OF INFO. IN SHORT - KNOTS ARE TOUGH TO TIE AND IT CASTS AND BEHAVES LOUSEY ON SPINNING EQUIPMENT.

It's another way to separate you from your money.

Actually Mike, its as expensive or cheaper as most leading lines, at about 7.99 to 9.99 for 250 yards.
