How do the two anchors compare? I bought a Digger anchor from Cabelas, because they were out of the Richter. It looks like it would hold alright but how good does it release? I dont want to let out an extra 100 foot of rope trip it! Any experience with this anchor?
I got a 12 lb. for my 16ft. Rebel.

My opinion? bad choice, I have 2 diggers, very disappointed, now have a richter, far and away a better anchor, check the archives about anchor discussion. The diggers do release nicely, just a quick snap of the hand but big deal when it doesn't hold in trying conditions when you count on it

I have a 25# Richter and I have fished up wind of a mud flat anchored in 35' of water with 100' of 7/16" rope and 5' of chain with 3' waves and 20 mph wind. With a 2500# 18' boat that is all I can ask of it.
I have never used a digger anchor so I would not know if that is a good anchor but I do know that a richter is a good anchor.
Your Rebel is pretty light you may have good luck.

Take a look at the Pro Anchor by Guidemaster. Holds great and with the dual reverse pull out always comes back. (www.Guidemasters.net)
