Has anybody ever used the scuffbuster bow guard XL from megaware. My ranger 619 has some scratches above the bow eye and I thought this might cover it nicely and provide future protection. Has anybody used any similar products they would recommend.

How does it adhere to the boat? This looks very interesting. I saw something like this on a few runabouts, but it was screwed on, and I was a bit worried about cracking.

Yup...had one on my 619. Took it to the local Line-X shop and had it covered, so it would be black. Had the local fiberglass shop use some type of epoxy or whatever they use stick it to the boat. Worked great. Mine came with some type of 3M tape, but I didn't think it would work.

I got one when I put on my last Keel Guard and put it where instructed. Really is a great idea, but I must have done something wrong because one side of it does not stick down really well. Kinda pulls up a bit from the surface. It does help reduce the "rash" you get from the hook on the line/strap pulling the boat onto the trailer.

I will probably put one on my next boat as well.

Thanks for the input. I've heard they are tough to bend and mold to your hull design and i'm concerned about the 3M tape coming lose and then the guard would potentially scratch/gouge the boat worse. Are these intended for powerloading?

Although i have some reservations, it looks like one of the few options out there, so i might give it a try.

I installed the bowguard xl on my ranger. Once i got it pre-molded, it went on easy enough. I really like it. I have loaded the boat 5-6 times already It looks nice and performs like it's supposed to.

I noticed the paint on the bow of my glass boat was getting scuffed a bit from the roller so I ordered a similar product from Keelshield. I just got it in the mail last week and haven't had a chance to install it yet but I think it'll do a good job of protecting the paint. Rather than 2 sided tape though, this product comes with a tube of adhesive to mount it with.

I'll let you know in a few months how it holds up.
