Congtrats go out to Wayne VanDyke and Bruce Mueller for their 1st MWT victory.
In a nail biter, Bruce stuck a nice 8.5lb fish in the last 30 minutes which upgraded a much smaller fish. It turns out that was the ticket since they won by 0.3 lbs. Wow!
Way to go guys!
Excellent tournament, extremely well run and professional......as has come to be known as "normal" for the MWT.

The MWT has always been a well run operation. Congrats to Wayne, nice job, you deserve it.
One improvement the MWT could make: the teams that stink on Day 1, if they no-show on Day 2 they should be penalized. Take away championship points, impose a time penalty on them at the next tournament, hold them up for an hour; or penalize their weight at the next tourney they fish by a pound or two. Not showing up on day 2 after sucking on day 1 is completely lame!

Wayne and I had a great time, and not being big river fishermen, we really were just hoping for a top 10 finish. Lance Valentine and others have been saying that you don't need live bait in the river, so we committed to using all plastics for the tournament. We used those new "Current Buster" jigs from Tightlinetackle.net and a bunch of different plastics including "Wyandotte worms", Fin-S, Zoom Flukes, and on Saturday, Goby plastics in "Baby poop" color were red hot. I guess I have a lot more confidence in going shiner-free than I did one week ago.
Thanks to everyone for their support!

Now there is a good plan. Many tournaments, more than I can remember, I have stunk it up on Day 1 and really, really, not wanted to fish on Day2. But, I always did. 99% of guys do. It is important to producing a good event. It is good for the sponsors. For example, if I were a sponsor and I saw participants bail after Day 1, I'd seriously consider the viability of the entire operation.
How many teams did that?
