My engine has developed a miss at 1800 rpms and I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen? I'm going to put new plugs in on monday and hope that helps, but if it doesn't, I need some advise. These plugs are the original set and have one season of use. The engine is a 2000 so it doesn't fall in the time frame for the update kit that some other opti's need. So if you've got any Ideas please let me know. Buying a Yamaha is not an option so I don't need to hear that. Thanks for any advice. Ryan Relien
I have consulted a local dealer and it was there advise to start with plugs.

Hey Fritz,
I've got the same engine. Last fall it became hard to start and I noticed a ping or knock at around 4k rpm. Dealer put the platinum ngk plugs in and all has been well since. Mercury covered it under warranty.

Fritzi me boy, Sounds like plugs to me. The factory plugs are sometimes not the best.
