Lost Position.... I set up my new X-15 with GPS tonight and played with it a little in the Drive way. I then got to work in the front of the boat. A little bit later the X-15 Pinged. I walked back to see what happened and the screen said "Lost Position". I thought O'well I may have hit something. Well after about 2 or 3 times of the same thing hapening after I shut it of and restarted it I felt a little uneasy about it. After it pinged I would go to the Status screen and see if it was locking in on satlites and it was. It would then ping and say lost modual or some thing to do with the modual beign lost. When I turned it off and back on it would work for a little and then ping at me. Any thoughts?

Check to see that your GPS module is unobstructed. I used to put my hand on mine and it would do the same.

I finally figured out it was thicker tree branches over my driveway - had the same thing happen .... but if no trees - return it for a new one

Fuzzy you may have stumbled on to something... My boat is right under a huge Elm tree. and the first time I tried it it was in a house. I will give it a try. Anyone with any other Ideas?

1st bet, the tree limbs. Unlikely the problem in your situation, but it's easy to check voltage - unit probably has digital voltage readout somewhere in the windows screens. Manual will list minimum required voltage. Doublecheck both antenna connections. Call factory.

I talked to Reeds and they said these units work best when they are in an open field or lake with nothing obstructing them. Crossing my fingers.
