As a point of interest -
When lindy rigging, or live bait rigging with very light weights - i.e. finesse rigging, weights in the 1/8th - 3/8th oz range - does anyone use light action rods -- i.e. rods rated for 4-8 lb line - with weight ratings of 1/16" - 5/16" oz.
Typically a moderate action - so that a good portion of the rod will bend on the occurance of a bit.
The reason that I ask it - is that I ran across a 7'6" - light - moderate action rod - with a bait casting handle -- it would seem that it would be about an ideal light rigging rod, with about 4-6 lb line on a bait casting reel. Should be easy to follow bottom contours - and with the very light tip - really allow the light biting eyes to get a good rod bend, before feeling any resistance??????
Thanks for any heads up --
The main reason that I ask this - is that I seldom use any rigging rods, much lighter than medium light -- as opposed to light action.
Take care
