Does any one use the notches, that can be cut into the hubs of a prop - to cut a line if a prop happens to pick up a line?

Basically, at the base of each blade - and at an angle, such that the line would get caught and cut off - a small sharp notch is cut into the prop hub. The theory is that it is better to chop off a line, rather than having the fishing line get wound around a motor shaft, and cut a lower unit seal out of the motor.

The notch is so small and out of the prop pulling area, that it has negligible effect on the efficiency of the prop.

Take care
