I bet 52 Lbs will not be 1ST place buy the end of the day. Prefished with 1 pro from Ohio for 2 days and had over 55Lbs for 5 fish each day. And just think ,some are saying Erie is not as good as it used to be.
Big fish day

only 32 pros weighed in and an 8Lb avg. is not on the top 10.I love Erie.Lets see a weight in the high 50`s to shut up all the whinner`s that say Erie is dying.
I was at erie fishing over the weekend with Bill Ortiz and on Sat. we had over a 10lb. average. Although he only had a 7lb. ave. today he is still in the running. Congrats to Jay, hi is one heck of a good duy and fisherman. It could be close to 60 before its over.

Tournament started today not yesterday. Hope he does well. What you caught prefishing doesn't always indicate how you'll do come crunch time.
Welcome to Erie in the spring!!!
These are post-spawn weights. If the tournament had been 10 days ago, the weights would have been a solid 2.5 pounds per fish higher. That would put a 5 fish bag at 60 pounds. Gotta love it!!! Reef Runners Rule!!!
Sorry, kind of excited.

Just when you thought a 9lb average was unreal. Does anyone think they can break 55lbs any time soon? Man I got to go there someday! Wyoming is just to far away.
55 pounds has been topped by many of the angler in the past 5 days. To do it during the copetition is possible but you'd have to have 2 kicker fish. Everybody with 40 or above today, is praying for 1 kicker tommorrow. The weather looks good for tommorrow, we'll just have to wait and see.

I got to correct this thread. Team Cabela's member Carl Gruenwaldt set the new PWT record today at 52.85!!!!! Wat to go Carl. WOW!!!!
What a difference two weeks of sun and heat makes. I was dreaming of 50+ lbs. on the 6th!

Well maybe for a tourney weight, it might be a small increase. Yeahbut, if your not a Erie Angler you've probably never heard about the near 60/5 catches or the ones that never got turned in to the ODNR for records by at least 1 Sportsman. OMG, and the gals were full of eggs a few weeks ago or so! Got to love Erie, blows, water levels and all.

Way to go Carl!!!!! What a run you are on!!! You win the Green Bay MWC last year, make the final day in the RCL championship, now break the PWT all time record for 1-day weight. You are unconscious man!!! Not a bad showing for a die-hard Bass fisherman!lol
Good luck
