Powerbait for the Rainy

Never tried powerbait while fishing the Rainy river. Thinking about giving it a try this year. Anyone try it before? Thanks in advance for the info. WS

I used 7" Power Worms on a crawler harness fishing 35-40' of water in a lake in Ontario last Sept and the fish slamed this bait. Out-produced companions fishing with small minnows. 70% of hookups came on the front hook. Used #7 white colorado blade with white and red beads on 20# Fireline.

Last week I tried the new Cabela's Livin' Eye minnows on the Rainy and they seemed to work well. I caught fish with and without a real minnow added on. I think my nicest fish of the day came on a gold jig with a plastic minnow.
