I heard that in the new Canadian fishing rule book, that they outlawed the use of lead in lakes and streams in Canada. I know of no one that sells non lead jigs. Where can I find non lead jig heads? Any reply would be helpfull.

Cabellas, Bass Pro for sure and I would think that all big tackle
outlets and catologs would have them. I have used them (not exclusively) for a few years now.

I have the steel sinkers. Not as heavy so they are bigger. Other
than that they are fine

Good Luck

In Canada - that covers a lot of different Provinces. I haven't heard anything so far regarding Ontario - their regs ARE on line. I downloaded the PDF - but don't remember seeing anything.

Which or is it all province are you talking about?

I don't think your information is totally accurate. As far as I know, the federal ban on the use of lead applies while in National Parks only.

Other than that, this would be an issue governed by each Province. In Saskatchewan and Manitoba, I know for sure that lead products can still be used (outside of Nat'l Parks, of course). I'm sure others can quickly state the current laws in Ontario.

Unless you really want them, I'd hold off buying a whole bunch of lead-free jigs until you checked into this a little further.

Bring your jigs and sinkers, unless you are staying in a national park, the check out the regs a little closer. There is alot of talk about going lead-free, but there is nothing in our regs yet, hunting shot is banned, but not jigs or sinkers......yet....(:
