Can anyone give me an idea of my guns worth ? It's a 3 yr old Howa model 1500 .22/250. Bolt action, new Nikon 6-18x40 scope, camo paint. It's in almost perfect condition. Just looking for a starting point. Thanks

Most gun stores also sell books of used gun values. "Browse" those books for a starting point.
But, read the section that describes condition grading. You are likely thinking your gun is in better condition than the used market considers it.

A brand new Howa 1500 is $500.

There is a scoped Howa (270) on gunbroker. The seller is asking $600. So far there are no takers. There are several others w/o scopes for around $400.

My buddy used to have one like yours exact same model and caliber but with the boyd's wood thumbhole grip stock and same size scope as yours. He got the rifle itself for 500 new 5 years ago thru a dealer who sold it to him at cost. He shot thousands and thousands of rounds through it when we shot prairie dogs and the barrel got shot out. He took it to Scheels and they thought it was all good and offered him $650. He didn't waste any time taking up on that price since the barrel was shot out. Anyways, for the best price, you may be better taking it to a local scheels and see what they will quote you. To my amazement, alot of the scheels guys don't know what they're talking about. Best of luck.

my best estimate would be the rifle is in the ball park of $350 to $400 realalistically. Depending on what kind of nikon scope it is you might get $500 and these estimates are for a rifle in pristine condition with low rounds shot through it.
