Ive heard a little about lead core and was wondering what is the best brand of lead core to use. Can you spool more than one rod with one spool of line?

Do you look for brite colored line or dull colors i have seen both and figured id ask you guys first. And what size I will mostly fish on the mississippi.

Thanks Alot!!

I use cabels lead core in 18 or 27 lbs size spooled on a penn gti 310 and i use a 6 foot fluorocarbon leader line in 20 to 25 lbs line. I go that heavy so i dont lose those crank baits that cost so much.and it has not prevented me from catching my limit of fish many times or losing baits!

Lead core comes in "segmented colors", each 30 feet of line is a different color so you can keep track of how many "colors" or feet you have out. I use Cabela's 18lb test and it comes in a 200 yd spool or 20 "colors". I'm sure you could spool two reels with one spool, depending on how deep you want to go. I mainly use it on two reels, mono backing and 4 colors then about a 40 ' leader of mono on one and another reel with 3 colors on it. I let out all the colors till I get to mono backing then attach to a planer board. Precission trolling has some dive curves in it for this.
