Does anybody have information about quality trolling rods at a reasonable price?
I would prefer a 7'-6" - 8'-0" telescoping model,
but I would like information on any rod types.
Manufacturers, models and prices (if known) would
be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I just saw some rods on sale at Fleet Farm in Oshkosh. They were 8' telescoping graphite rods, I believe the brand was "Perigrine". These rods were $29.99 and looked like a great value. I almost bought a pair even though I didn't need them ;-)
I run the Gary Parsons model from Bass Pro. They are 7.5' telescoping rods and can be had for about $40 on sale. They have been run hard by me for two seasons and I am pleased.
If you don't mind a 2-piece rod, Gander Mountain makes a guide series trolling rod that is an outstanding value and can be had for about $30 on sale.

the P&K rods from Bass Pro are nice rods that aren't to spendy. The handles are nice and the retractable butt section makes storing them easy. I personally like the 8'6" for trolling boards.

I HAVE TO AGREE WITH THE P+K RODS FROM BPS.I DO HAVE SOME OTHER MORE COSTLY RODS, BUT FOR THE MONEY YOU CAN,T BEAT THE P+K,S. I LIKE THE 8FT - 6IN. RODS FOR TROLLING PLANER BOARDS WITH THE LOW STRECH LINES. THEY ARE A LITTLE MORE FORGIVING. BUT I LIKE A ROD THAT IS A FOOT SHORTER FOR STRAIGHT LINE TROLLING WITH DEEP DIVING BAITS WITH REGULAR MONO LINES. HOPE THIS HELPS A BIT. GOOD FISHING

I have 10 of the P/K Bass pro rods and many of my fishing partners have them also. This is the best 50 bucks I have ever spent on a trolling rod. I think P/K should send me a couple of bucks a pop for all the rods I've sold for them! Right fat chance. Well here is some more gratis work. These rods are excellent. They have the precise action needed for trolling. Good power in the butt and a flexible tip. Graphite construction makes them light and sensitive- they are easy to read when the crank is fouled etc. The Retractable EVA handle is very durable and makes for easier storage. I use the 8.5's for running boards and fireline, 7.5's for lines behind the boat. For tight contours and no boards I use two of each. Put Diawa line counters on and you will have a great combination.
