Ill be back here in a few days, I just received a phone call. My girlfriend had a shunt put in her head 7 years ago because she had a cyst on her brain. This shunt drained fluid from this cyst into her stomach where it was just passed. It then let her have a normal life, releiving the pressure on her cranium . This morning she couldnt see and was dizzy and everything was in slow motion. She was taken to the emergency room, and her Neurologist said the shunt had worn out and she has to undergo brain surgery immediately to replace the valve in the shunt. Im going to the hospital right now, and i'll be in the hospital for about 4 days straight. Please put her in your thoughts and prayers as this is a very difficult time for our families.

Hey im at the hospital and they have told her they are doing the surgery on Friday. The Dr has made it sound very easy, they have to just replace a valve and shouldnt have to get near the brain. She is really scared but shell pull through, shes coming up to Canada to do some walleye fishing this summer so i told her she has to be alright LOL, just keeping a smile on, it keeps her spirits up. Her name is Heather. Thanks so much for the prayers it means so much, from fellow outdoorsmen and women.

Hope all goes well Shane and we will be pulling for her. My wife had one of those put in her head(same kind) back in 1995 and thankfully has not had any trouble with it. She is very worried about something eventually going wrong and having to have it replaced and mentions it from time to time. Let us know how she does.

That sounds like decent news, my friend. Keep thinking positive, the pros'll do their job come Friday.
