View Full Version : cargo nets help
I have a Lundpro V 1660. A while back there were some posts on cargo nets that could be purchased from walmart for mini-vans that would work in the boat. I purchased two nets that measure 13" by 48" (minimum) 60" (maximum). I have exactly 48" length in the bow. I am wondering if this is going to work before I start drilling holes. Anyone out there who has a similar situation and has installed these nets? I'm looking for advice and help.

I put cargo nets in my Lund Mr Pike a couple of years ago after reading about them here on WC. I used plastic sticky back hooks to mount the cargo nets. Nets work great, other than occasionally liking to reach out and grab a treble hook. No drilling necessary.

I modified the Walmart nets for the bow of my skeeter. They were too long and too wide for how I wanted to use them so I disassembled them, cut the netting down to the size I wanted, and reassembled the stretch nylon border at the right length. I reused the cloth finishing edges and stitched them back on for a clean look. The adhesive backed clips have held well, with no drilling required. Each one took about an hour to modify, and cost around $15.

Suggestion:
I've found the sticky black hooks are less likely to detach if you don't leave the net stretched (and pulling against the adhesive) when not in use. Simply unhook one end when not in use (I don't leave equipment in the nets when I'm not on the water).
Good luck!

I found the new Rig Rite cargo nets on the Cabela's web site. They match the current lund cargo nets perfectly. Two sizes available I think.
