Do most of you purchase the Daiwa SG27LC with the extra walleye handle or not? I think that it comes standard with the single hangle type, and the walleye handle is double.
Only about $3 a reel more, but if it will only sit a shelf somewhere in my garage, they why buy it?

Rick,
I've had some of the "walleye" handles on some of my SG27s and have taken them off and put the power handle back on. Much better with big fish and cranking in dipseys, jet divers, inline boards. We fish on Erie targeting big eyes and steelhead and also Lake Ontario for Salmon. You can get much more leverage with the power handle. This can be an issue if you fish with kids or with some women. The "walleye" handle might be fine if you're just longline trolling or aren't handling big fish.
I sure wouldn't pay extra for the handle. I may even have a few of them laying around if you want them.

Save the 3 bucks and use the standard handle. It gives you a lot more leverage and you can reel boards in much faster with it.

Ditto, save the three bucks. The single power handle gives a better grip for cranking.

Put the power handle on that will cost ya about 12$ have them on 19 reels and the standard one on the 20th, nobody wants to use the one with the stock handle. If you ever use the power handle you will never go back. I have what they call the Geritol Crew and they love them!! Ha Ha people that know me will understand. Huck, fishing on the "Huckleberry"
