Try the plastic bobber stop with 4 holes in it. Run the line thru less holes for ease of moving, more holes to keep it in place. You might also try a dab of super glue on the knot of the line type bobber stops you are using, once you find the right depth. I;ve never tried it though.Hope this helps.

I put two knots on right next to each other. The one closest to the bait seems to be the only one that slides. The one closest to the reel stays put and after fighting your fish just slide the low one back into position. None of that, I wonder if this is where its supposed to be? Works for me.

Get your self the rubber bullet stops. Much better for fine 2-6# lines or any of the "super" lines that are too slippery for the knotted stops.

They are available from most tackle stores and come with a fine wire loop that you feed the line through and pull the wire loop to thread the line.

I use these on my ice-fishing lines with 4# Berkley Iceline or 6# Fireline. Works great.

The down side is that after you have made several adjustments for depth the rubber gets cut by the line. Mine last about 5-7 trips depending on how many times I changed depths. One stop has been on my noodle rod for 2 years. Line change will kill one as well.

Hope this helps.

I tried them all. I think the best onece are with 4 holes. Make sure your rod has large Fuji guides.

go with the neopreen bobber stops. get them at K-mart or Wal-Mart. they come on a piec of wire with a bead. simply slide the stop and the bead on to your line with the bead on the bait side of the line to prevent the stop from going into the bobber. works great and like Auquaman said you can leave the rod rigged all season.

Try the Redi-Rig slip floats, no knots or stops needed. Bait cannot float up or drop down either.

Been using them for two years, I love em!

We use rubber band pieces. Tie it around your line with a square knot and trim the ends. It's adjustable, holds good, and if it dies due to many adjustments you can tie on another without having to take off the bobber, weight and hook. Give it a try.

I have the same problem has you bglen. Even though I mine it seems to only happen if I have allot of wieght to weigh down the hook or a big jig. when you guys say the stops with 4 holes do you mean thoose "dogbone" bobber stops??

I use the little red "dog bones" with a bead below them. They hold their depth really well, but are easy to adjust to a different depth quickly. Also, they cast well through even the smallest guides.

Saw your post about Redi Rig Slip bobbers and it really interests me. How do they work and where can I buy them? I have had success with the dog bones but they really twist your line when you adjust them. Thanks in advance, "Jigger" Dan Lewis
