Anyone have any experience with these trucks or motors? We have been looking for a bigger rig for the new boat and found this one at a very affordable price. My mechanic says to run the other direction, but he says that about anything not made offshore.

It has 100k and is fully loaded with all the extras and a warranty up to 120k. I know diesel's will runn forever, but I also heard that these may not be the way to go.

Thanks in advance,

BRS1

We have all chevy diesels in our fleet. Rite now we have 6 =6.5 turbos,1=6.5 non turbo. the 1995 6.5 non turbo has 158,000 miles and tows a 3,000-4,000 pound trailer every day. We have been very happy with chevy diesels. Email me and I can tell you more

Check out this site, many pros and cons of that particular engine but more cons. Good luck. http://forum.62-65-dieselpage.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

If you want an older diesel get a Ford or Dodge. The older Chevy diesels are prone to problems and even big time Chev fans will attest to that if they are honest.

I would agree with you targa2, the old GM diesels did have problems. They are somewhat underpowered and tend to use oil when they get alot of miles on them. If you really want an awesome diesel (if you can afford it) move up to the new Duramax, it will be worth every cent.
