I am going to be setting up a new boat. Am thinking of a Lowrance X75 in the bow. A bottomline master on the dash and a magellan 6500 GPS. Would you consider a combo unit for the dash. Any other units? I fish muskie mostly and a some walleye. The walleye is on Mille lacs or LOW. Thanks for any advice. Kevin

No, I wouldn't go with a combo. I think that you have the right idea with getting separate units. I have a 350a, which is a combo unit. It's a nice unit but I ended up putting another GPS unit next to it. I wanted a full screen of sonar at all times and didn't want to give up the display space.

Take alook at the Raytheon equipment on the market. There is a new GPS chartplotter on the market, RC420, that has a beautiful screen and a much faster processor than anything I've ever used. Real good map of LOW too! I think Cabela's and Reed's are carrying them. Hope it helps
Set hard, set often!
Why would you go with 3 different brands. I would worry about the 3 different units interfering with each other. I have a low end Bottomline in the bow and a Bottomline Tournament Master HR w/ GPS on the helm. I absolutly love both units. The HR is great and the GPS is out of this world and simple to use. Cabelas had the HR w/GPS for $849.00. That`s the best 850 I ever spent. Good luck with your new toys.
That RC420 Buzbait referred to will be able to use the new maps from Fishing Hot Spots in it! Lake data should be available for it later this summer.
